The general public is invited to attend the conference on Dominican relations with the People’s Republic of China to be given by geopolitics and international relations expert, Iván Gatón. The talk, “Origin, Evolution and Perspectives for Dominican-Chinese Relations” will be presented on 15 May 2018. The conference is sponsored by the Secretaria de Formación Política of the ruling PLD party. The talk will take place at the Salón Bienvenido Sandoval of the Casa Nacional del PLD as of 6pm.
Dominican Republic announced signing of diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China after more than 75 years of relations with Taiwan.
Gatón has a Master’s degree in diplomatic studies, has Doctorate in international law and political sciences and has conducted several studies focused on the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of China (Taiwan).
