Presenting the first quarter economic performance report for 2018, the Central Bank reveals accumulated growth for January to April was up 6.7%. Monthly Economic Activity Indicator (IMAE) for April 2018 was 7.5%.
The Central Bank reports there was outstanding growth of 33.7% in April 2018 in the construction sector. Other sectors posting high growth rates were free zones with 14.7%, financial services with 10.1%, commerce 9.1%, health 9%, transport and warehousing 8.8%, local manufacturing 7.1%.
The Central Bank says the numbers position the Dominican economy as leader in economic growth in t Latin America.
