DR is good market for retail

Laureano Turienzo, the promoter of the Retail Trends 2020 that will take place 19 September 2018 at the Santo Domingo JW Marriott, says that the Dominican Republic is the 13th retail market in the world when ranked by investment. A Deloitte study highlights the importance of the Dominican market on the global scale. In regards to attracting international markets, the Dominican Republic is ranked 7th in the world. But it is also sixth in market saturation. The findings are published in Listin Diario today.

Turienzo told Listin Diario reporters: “This is a very good market.” He said there is high market penetration on the Internet and much e-commerce trade. The demand is big and there, he says. He set at 81% market penetration and says that of these 61% are Internet uses. The norm for the Caribbean is 48% that of Central America is 61%, South America is 68%, and the global average is 53%.
The same study reveals that Dominicans are among the most active in the world participation in social media, with 52% and growing, compared to the 52% global average.
