Two Canadians arrested on drug charges

The National Police, in coordination with Interpol and the Canadian Embassy in Santo Domingo, has taken into custody two Canadian nationals accused of several crimes. Kenny Joseph Pascal Maheu was arrested in Boca Chica after having been sought by Canadian authorities for drug charges. At the time of his arrest he possessed RD$122,000.00 in cash; 1,590 Canadian dollars and two cell phones. The other suspect arrested was identified as Denis Desputeaux. He was taken into custody in Puerto Plata and is accused of conspiracy and drug dealing. At the time of his arrest, Desputeaux was carrying RD$17,435 in cash as well as a number of credit cards. Both men are in custody awaiting the legal processes.
