
Judges of the First Collegiate Court of the National District sentenced five men who were found guilty of the murder of legal advisor of the Embassy of Switzerland in the Dominican Republic, German national Wolfgang Heimann. Heimann was murdered in his residence in Los Ríos, Santo Domingo on 13 June 2016. The assailants stole his vehicle, a safe box, firearms and other belongings of the victim.
Judges Esmirna Gisselle Méndez, Ingrid Fernández and Claribel Nivar sentenced the accused Brayan Rafael Ortiz Serra (aka Chaparro) to serve 30 years in jail. Félix Carlos Sterling Amaro (aka Cacu), Richard Anthony Perdomo Castillo and Félix Antonio Sterling (aka Coco or Pelotero) were each sentenced 15 years in prison. Bryan Bernardo Santana Marmolejos (aka Diablito) was sentenced to 5 years in jail. All sentences are to be served at the La Victoria jail.
The men were found guilty of criminal association, voluntary homicide, theft, illegal possession of firearms.
