
The media is focusing on how the rain poured inside several newly renovated public hospitals, renovations that have cost billions to taxpayers. These included the Francisco Moscoso Puello, Salvador B. Gautier, Maternidad San Lorenzo de Los Mina, Maternity Nuestra Señora de La Altagracia, Centro Cardio-Neuro Oftalmologico y Trasplante (Cecanot) in Greater Santo Domingo and the Juan Pablo Pina and Centro de Primer Nivel de Madre Vieja Norte, in San Cristóbal.
The director of the OISOE, Francisco Pagán minimized the damages and construction defects when visiting the recently renovated Hospital Francisco Moscoso Puello. The hospital was inaugurated on 5 April 2018. Engineer Francisco Pagán said that the water entered between the old and new construction and by an obstructed pipe. He said that teams were working to resolve the problem.
