DR seeks increased access to CAF funds

The Dominican Republic announced it seeks to become a full-fledged member of the Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF). The Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) is a multilateral development bank that is currently owned by 19 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe as well as 14 private banks from the Andes region of Latin America. The DR has been a member since 2004, but the new status would increase the country’s access to bank funds. The announcement was made in Panama, by the president of the institution, Luis Carranza.
