
The government has made a commitment to send a bill to Congress that would simplify tax payments for small companies and eliminate the burdensome “anticipo,” or the advance payment of taxes. Minister of the Presidency, Gustavo Montalvo, said that the creation of the “Sistema Simplificado de Tributación Unico” is a new form for paying taxes developed by the Tax Agency (DGII) to lower the tax burden of micro, small and medium sized companies, a category known here by its Spanish acronym, Mipymes.
If signed into law, new modality would be implemented for newly incorporated small and medium businesses.
