
The past weekend the Ministry of Interior and Police (MIP) closed around 15 bars for three months for having different violations of decrees 308-06 and 316-06 that regulate to whom alcohol can be sold and the hours that alcohol can be served.
The Ministry carried out raids on more than 50 businesses, located in different areas of Santo Domingo west and the National District. The authorities identified at least 37 minors who were suspected of being patrons of the bars.
Administrative Minister José Ramón Fadul warned that they would continue the operations across the country via the program of the Control of Alcoholic Beverages (COBA) directed by MIP.
The bars closed were La Makina, Car-Sin Sport Bar, Súper Fría MM, D’Balbuena Drink, Cero Dema Drink, Súper Colmado HD, D’ Kada, Galaxy Lounge Bar, Paradita 28, Súper Bodega Anthony, Bodega Guillo, Menor Drink, D’ Peter Billar, Adames Sport Bar and Kocaleka Drink.
