Prepare for enjoying excellent jazz music in the setting of the Los Establos equestrian center in Cap Cana, in southern Punta Cana. On Saturday, 25 August 2018, the organizers of the DR Jazz Festival are taking the show to Punta Cana.
The 22nd version of the jazz gathering will happen that evening from 8pm to 11:30pm. The event has the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Cap Cana, Karisma Hotels and Resorts, the US Embassy, Lifestyle and Cristal Oasis.
In this version, the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and the Italian-American saxophonist Marco Pignataro will participate. The musical band, in addition to Carrington, will be integrated by Ingrid Jensen, on the trumpet; Kenny Davis, on bass and Ian Fink, on piano. In addition, the composer and percussionist of electronic music, DJ Val Jeanty, will be participating, who will be in charge of what is described by promoters “as quite an innovative proposal.”DJ Jeanty is a versatile Haitian artist who uses rhythm boxes, samples and turntables to produce music with sculptural and spiritual dimensions.
