Former NBA basketball player and Dominican national team player Fancisco García has been appointed to lead the national basketball team as it seeks to be one of seven teams to represent the Americas in the FIBA Basketball World Cup in China 2018.
The second round of the Americas qualifier consists of three windows that will be taking place in September and November 2018 and February 2019. The September window starts 13 September.
The Dominican Republic will be playing in Group F against Venezuela, Brazil, Canada, Virgin Islands and Chile.
