The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced that during the week they will be closing several tunnels and elevated sections in both direction in Santo Domingo for cleaning and maintenance.
Today, Tuesday 28 August, the tunnel on 27 February with Maximo Gomez will be shut as well as the elevated section on Kennedy with Ortega and Gasset.
On Wednesday and Thursday it will be the tunnel of 27 February between Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln. In addition on Thursday, the elevated section on Máximo Gómez with Nicolás de Ovando will be worked on. On Friday, the tunnel on the Las Americas Highway will be closed to traffic for maintenance.
All of the closures will be from 10:30pm to 5:30am.
