Organization of American States secretary general Luis Almagro had praise for the migratory practices in the Dominican Republic, calling Dominican migratory policy an example for the world. Almagro spoke during the 70th Anniversary of the OAS Charter held in Santo Domingo at the Ministry of Foreign Relations. Almagro said the Dominican Republic had achieved important advances in migratory policy with concrete and specific results that had not been achieved in the same proportion by any other country in the continent. In the past, Almagro had been very critical of Dominican migratory policy implementation.
