The lawyers of the family of Emely Peguero, the teenager murdered in Duarte province, have said that the Marlin Martinez’s defense attorney, Ingrid Hidalgo, continues to attempt to delay the start of the trial that is due to start on Wednesday 29 August 2018.
José Hoepelman, lawyer for the plaintiffs, has said the trial will begin and that the request for an annulment is just a delaying tactic, a fact that everyone knows, including the judge, the parties and society. He also said this tactic was annoying and did not conform to the proper penal process.
