Young businessman Fernando Rainieri is in the intensive care unit of CEDIMAT in Santo Domingo after suffering severe injuries in a crash on the La Romana highway.. He received the first medical attentions at the Central Romana hospital in La Romana from where he was taken by helicopter ambulance to Cedimat in Santo Domingo. He was driving a white Porsche and was alone at the time of the accident. He is the son of the late Fernando Rainieri, former minister of Tourism, and Pilar Soto. He is the nephew of the president of the Punta Cana Group, Frank Rainieri.
