
A spokesman for the National Council for the Defense of Consumer Rights (Conadeco) rejected a bid to sell propane gas at gasoline and diesel fuel stations. Sandino Bisono, the president of Conadeco, called the proposal a ticking time bomb, since the technical conditions do not exist in the country nor are there sufficient security measures in place for this type of operation.
Bisono called for the Ministry of Industry & Commerce to maintain the ban. At present propane is sold in separate fuel stations.
The authorization of multiple fuel sales at the gas stations has the strong opposition of market leaders in the fuel sector.
