On Sunday, 7 October 2018, President Danilo Medina visited Sabana de la Mar, Hato Mayor, and met with community leaders. The community requested that the area’s dock to be increased in size. He also met with coconut and cacao producers in Arroyo Rico and Miches in El Seibo, to whom he offered support in the development and renovation of 3,000 tareas (1 tarea = 629 square meters) and new production projects that would benefit more than 7,000 inhabitants.
President Medina promised to build secondary roads and donate a truck, provide a bus to transport students and evaluate the situation of the public schools in the area.
The President was accompanied by Administrative Minister José Ramón Peralta, and Agriculture Minister Osmar Benítez among other government officers.
