
The Third Court of the Appeals Court of the National District authorized the home arrest for the former director of the Dominican Corporation of State Enterprises (Corde) Leoncio Almánzar and another six accused in the sale of Los Tres Brazos property in Santo Domingo East corruption case. The court also accepted to declare the case “complex” giving the parties more time to prepare the case.
It was ordered that instead, Almánzar, José Enrique de Pool Dominici, of Titulatec; and Carlos Gómez, of Infepa, who were serving pre-trial custody at the Najayo Jail in San Cristóbal, can leave the jail with the use of a custody bracelet and the payment of a bond for RD$10 million to the Attorney General Office account at the Banco Agrícola. The accused cannot leave the country and their passports have been retained by the judiciary.
The same court ordered that the others accused in the case, Manuel Aybar Ferrando, formerly of Inmobiliario; Julio César Gómez, of Infepa; and Juana Inés Gómez, of Proyecciones Inmobiliarias GOWI, post a bail of RD$5 million. And
Domingo Gerardo Lebrón de los Santos post bail of RD$3 million.
