Former President Leonel Fernandez is the new president of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA). He was elected during an assembly that took place at the Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) is a global nonprofit organization representing and coordinating a membership of over 100 national United Nations Associations. The event was organized by the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo, the Leonel Fernandez think tank, and the Association of the United Nations in the Dominican Republic (ANU-RD) and WFUNA.
