Dominicana Moda in Colonial City

This year sponsored by the City Government of Santo Domingo, Dominicana Moda has moved from the traditional Hotel Embajador to be hosted by a variety of city venues. The annual event will take place from Tuesday, 23 October through Saturday, 27 October 2018. The closing runway show will be with the Oscar de la Renta fashion house on Saturday, 27 October at 8pm to the stage of the Columbus Park in the Colonial City.

In addition to the Oscar de la Renta fashion house, well-established and emerging designer runway shows will be held. The fashion designers with runway shows include a swimwear showcase with Maru Jordan, Maria Fernanda, Salitre Swimwear at the Hotel Jaragua pool area. Also a children showcase with Dixie Kids, Little Tales, Karla Riggs.

From the Caribbean, designer Ecliff Elie is presenting for Trinidad, Carlton Brown from Jamaica and Helmer Joseph from Haiti, under the Caribbean Export umbrella. Honduras has sent designer Lawin Paz, and Panama Sosua Pitti. Others are Marco Carrazana, Lisa Thon and Leonardo Cordero Sunset from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Jose Jhan is presenting the fashion line he has developed for Jumbo stores in the Dominican Republic. Emerging designers Mannelik Ortega, Sinead Fachelli, Namie Takata, Fancy Sinner by Laura Peña, Paola Ready to Wear, Johanna Alba, Diana Gisel and Estefania Lozada will have runway shows.
Established designers Miguel Genao, Louardos, Arcadio Diaz, Rafael Rivero, Jenny Polanco, Cayena, Camila, Carolina Sanz, Carlos de Moya, Gianni Azar, Gabriela Alvarez, Leonel Lirio, Mayle Vasquez and Jusef Sanchez will also have their runway shows.

Instituto Marangoni of Italy is participating with Armando Costa and Tianyi Li.

There will be an encounter of fashion bloggers at the Hotel Jaragua and a Caribbean Export panel at the Indotel Auditorium or the Archbishop Office in Colonial Santo Domingo.
