With the Leones del Escogido defeat on Sunday of the Gigantes del Cibao, the weekend concluded with a triple tie in the Dominican Winter Professional Baseball Championship. The Aguilas Cibaeñas also positioned themselves in first place after defeating the Tigres del Licey (1-0) to the delight of their fans in Santiago. The Aguilas Cibaeñas, Gigantes del Cibao and Leones del Escogido are now in first place with 8 wins and five losses. The Estrellas Orientales are 7-6, the Toros del Este 5-8 and the Tigres del Licey 3-10.
