
The Ministry of Tourism has opened a Tourism Promotion Office for the West Coast of the United States. The office is based in Los Angeles, California. The new director, Aldonsa Alcántara said the office a result of the President Medina’s goal of the country receiving 10 million tourists per year. She said that California is regarded as the fifth largest economy in the world. The 2017 Gross State Product of California was US$2.747 trillion, surpassing the United Kingdom’s $2.625 trillion Gross Domestic Product.
Alcántara said actions are underway to attract direct flights from Los Angeles to the Dominican Republic. She said the Tourism Promotion Office is working in collaboration with officers at the country’s general consulate in Los Angeles. The new office will service California and west coast market. The West Coast office is now responsible for attracting and servicing tourists from the states of Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and California.
The new office is operating from #318 at Central Park Business Center at 3500 West Olive Ave., Burbank, California, in front of the Warner Brothers Studios.
