A series of murders in drug case

Eight people have been murdered, all linked to the legal case against the supposed drug dealer, Jesús Pascual Cabrera. 15 individuals are being prosecuted in a new chapter of the Cabrera case that has been postponed seven times. Judge Franchesca Silvestre, withdrew from the case last week.

At the end of August, a group of military and police agents from the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), shot 23 year old Junior Sosa Valdez, and 29 year old Francisco Javier Camacho, alias Javielito, who were accused of being part of a criminal gang that had carried out multiple assassinations .

The group is accused of killing César Alexander Sánchez Ortiz (Caballón), Lalane Antonio Camacho Castro, Juan Francisco Piña Mateo (Francis Boutique), José Bienvenido Marte Mercedes and José Mir Paulino (Lenny), which adds up to eight people with the latest violent death of 27 year old Robelín Peña Guerrero, who was on the run and accused of four murders and having shot at the car of the Major League baseball player, Fernando Abad.

One of the murders is thought to be that of the lawyer, Santos Cedeño, which happened two weeks previously when he was shot inside his vehicle while waiting for his son to come out of college. Robelin is also suspected of the murders of Sammy Rafael Báez Obispo, Alexis Montás Guerrero (El Primo or El Menor) and Juan Francisco Piña Mateo (Francis Boutique).
