The president of the Sansousí Port of Santo Domingo, Lisandro Macarrulla announced that Gabriel Rodríguez Pereyra has been named the port’s executive director. His predecessor, Jaime Castillo, was recently recruited as director worldwide port operations for Royal Caribbean Cruises Line in Florida.
Rodríguez Pereyra has held positions in several multinationals with operations in the Dominican Republic, including a most recent chief financial officer at Falconbridge Dominicana. Macarrulla said that he would strengthen the promotion of the port and tourism in the city.
The Sans Souci Port is privately owned and serves the cruise market, the San Juan, Puerto Rico to Santo Domingo ferry as well as cargo operations.
