The Dominican Republic will take over the presidency of the Network of Electronic Government of Latin America and the Caribbean (Red GEALC) for 2019, as announced by the Presidential Office of Technology of Information and Communication (Optic) that represents the country in the regional organization.
The vote for the Dominican Republic was unanimous on 16 November 2018 at the V Ministerial Meeting and the XII Annual meeting of Red GEALC, that took place in Panama with the attendance of 25 member countries and invited guest countries including Italy, United Kingdom, South Korea and Estonia.
