Dominican Geury del Carmen Cruz Bencosme (El Patrón), who is linked to the kidnapping and murder of Rafael Cruz Hernández that occurred in Bonao on 2 February this year, has been extradited from Colombia.
According to the Attorney General’s Office in a press release, he was extradited last Saturday, 1 December 2018, and the prosecution will be looking for one year in preventive custody.
Cruz Bencosme, was wanted by Interpol since last March and is thought to be the person who paid for the contract killing of Rafael Cruz Hernández by members of a group of hitmen who are now in preventive custody for the crime.
They are Carlos Alberto Villavizar Guzmán, Carlos Enmanuel Abreu Ogando, Luis Alfredo Astacio Polanco, Jaykon Rodolfo Cabrera Sánchez, José Amaury Santiago Núñez, Euddy Adinin Roa García and Marcos Alejandro Cabrera.
These men are also accused of the murder of Virginia Veras Rosa, who was reported missing last February.
