The president of the Dominican Association of Exporters, Luis Concepción, says that exports were up 8.20% in October 2018 when compared to October 2017. But he expressed his concern that 40% of Dominican exports are just minerals, medical devices and apparel. Mining makes up 35% of all non-export free zone exports and 15% of all exports. He said farm products only make up 7%. As reported in El Dia, he called for a robust technical assistance program for local companies.
