The US Coast Guard reported that rescue crews were able to assist 21 persons, but seven more on board the illegal boat trip are missing. As reported, US Coast Guard rescue crews recovered the survivors from a capsized migrant boat in waters about six nautical miles just off Isla Saona, in eastern Dominican Republic. The commercial tanker Sea Board Ranger had alerted Dominican authorities that rallied the US Coast Guard for support on Thursday, 6 December 2018. The boat had been carrying 28 migrants.
