Will the Military and Police Commission of the Ministry of Public Works (MOPC) take action and arrest the motorcyclists that have converted national roads and highways into race tracks? The rash youths racing their motorcycles have caused numerous deaths and injuries.
Armada captain Luis Manuel Feliz Jose said the authorities have confiscated over the holidays the motorcycles of several youth who were racing on the La Romana by-pass road in the opposite direction. A statement from the MOPC says that in most traffic accidents there is a motorcyclist involved. It highlights how the races are a “headache” for the authorities and on how in the most spectacular and instantaneous ways the young lose their lives. He said that drivers constantly have to take extreme precautions to ensure that these suicide motorcyclists do not crash their vehicles.
