In the last 48 hours, the Dominican Armada has stopped seven illegal journeys to Puerto Rico and arrested dozens of people. The operations were carried out by the Armada in coordination with the United States Coast Guard for those in the Mona Channel, and those close to the Dominican coast, by the Armada alone.
According to the Commander General of the Armada, Vice Admiral Emilio Recio Segura, there has been a significant increase in the number of illegal voyages.
