José Alberto Adames (Canelo) aged 20 has been shot and killed by the National Police who were looking for him. Adames is accused of shooting and injuring two police officers from Boca Chica.
A major and a first lieutenant from the National Police were shot by Canelo whilst looking for him as he supposedly had a history of criminal activity such as robbery, assault and homicide.
Following the incident Canelo issued a video saying that he would hand himself into the police but he was found before he could and killed in Los Solares de Villa María en Pantoja.
He said on the video that he wanted to leave his family in peace as they had nothing to do with what had happened and he knew why the police wanted to kill him. Others did not know, he said, but he did.
