El Nacional reported that a “green sea” engulfed the southeastern city of San Pedro de Macoris as thousands of fans took to the streets to celebrate during the parade of the team through the city on Saturday, 26 January 2019. The Estrellas won their first tournament in 51 years and they did so by winning the regular series, the round robin and the playoffs.
The celebration parade began at the Tetelo Vargas ball park and was lead by the leading players, including Jose Siri and Fernando Tatis Jr, and team manager Fernando Tatis and the persevering board of directors of the team.
The parade ended with a grand party with several popular artists at the Malecon of the city.
