The Neumology Society is calling attention to the large number of persons affected by respiratory conditions who are seeking attention at clinics and hospitals. A report in Listin Diario says that the flu and Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are affecting large numbers of both adults and children.
Seasonal fluctuations in temperatures and humidity have caused an increase of the number of cases of respiratory problems. A spokesperson of the Society says that there has been a 50% of increase in demand for services of the neumology physicians at hospitals in comparison to other times of the year.
The physicians recommend the public pay particular attention to hygiene and other preventive measures, only taking acetaminophen for discomfort, and to see a physician In case of respiratory difficulties.
