No cash at AA’s counters at SDQ starting next week

American Airlines announced that as of Monday, 18 February 2019 cash transactions would no longer be accepted at their counters at the Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo. Only credit and debit cards will be accepted for ticket purchases or payment of ticketed luggage and other charges.

AA had already discontinued cash operations at the Punta Cana (PUJ) and Puerto Plata (POP) international airports in 2018. Oliver Bojos, director for AA in the Dominican Republic, says the move facilitates the work for the agents and expedites the service provided.

AA flies direct from Santo Domingo to Miami (MIA) and Philadelphia (PHL) and as of summer 2019 announces it plans to fly direct to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Charlotte Douglas (CLT).
