Lawyer Julio Cury punched former Minister of Public Works Víctor Díaz Rúa during the wedding of two socialites, bringing the wedding to a crash on Saturday, 2 March 2019 as the two got involved in a fistfight. The wedding had practically inaugurated the newly remodeled Santa Barbara church in the Colonial City. The punch was the talk of the town in social media over the weekend. Cury would apologize in a tweet, explaining he reacted to offensive comments by Díaz Rúa. Both were guests at the wedding.
Víctor Díaz Rúa is one of the accused of taking bribes for Odebrecht construction work.
