Medina administration says it has a Cybersecurity Plan

The government approved a cybersecurity plan in order to have a road map to protect the state, the population and national development. Minister of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo made the announcement from the Presidential Palace on 12 March 2019. He said the Cybersecurity Board of Directors of the Medina administration approved the Cybersecurity Plan 2018-2021 at the meeting on Monday, 11 March 2019.

Members of the board are Minister of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo, Defense Minister, the Interior & Police Minister, the director of the Dominican Telecommunications Institute, the director of the Presidential Office for Information and Communication Technologies (OPTIC), the National Investigations Department and the National Police.

The plan seeks to strengthen the legal and institutional framework, protect critical national infrastructure, educate in matters of security, and consolidate national and international alliances in a global context.
