79 judge candidates to the Supreme Court of Justice

The National Council of the Magistracy has published online the list of pre-candidates to available 7-year terms at the Supreme Court of Justice. Of the 79 listed, 62 are career judges, 12 are lawyers, four are prosecutors and one is a first instance judge.

The general public can submit objections to the candidates. These are being received at the secretary general of the Supreme Court of Justice until 21 March 2019.

The assessment hearings are scheduled for 28, 29 and 30 March. These will be streamed live. The acting jurors are the members of the National Council of the Magistracy: President Danilo Medina; president of the Supreme Court of Justice Mariano Germán; president of the Chamber of Deputies Radhames Camacho; president of the Senate, senator Reinaldo Pared Perez; Supreme Court of Justice judge Frank Soto; opposition political party representatives senator Jose Ignacio Paliza and deputy Josefa Castillo; and Attorney General Jean Alain Rodríguez.
