The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is forecasting rain showers for the north coast, from Montecristi to Puerto Plata. A trough is forecast to bring the most welcome showers. Rains are also forecast for the border provinces and areas in the Central Mountain Range.
Sunny skies with scant showers is the forecast for the rest of the nation, that is, for the east, southeast and southwest.
The good old days of the Dominican “winter” seem to be coming to an end. Onamet forecasts warm temperatures of 34-36C for the border and northwest.
