Easier to open a business; capital restriction eliminated

President Danilo Medina signed Law 68-19 that amends Art. 91 of the Businesses Law (General de Sociedades Comerciales y Empresas Individuales de Responsabilidad Limitada) on Friday, 29 March 2019. The amendment eliminates the RD$100,000 minimum capital to open a limited responsibility company and leaves the amount of the capital investment up to the shareholders. For some time now, though, the RD$100,000 requirement was not being enforced by local authorities in charge of company formation.
