José Asilis reaches a deal with DGII

Pre-trial custody against businessman José Asilis Elmudesí was revoked after he reached a deal with the Seventh Court for Instruction of the National District. He was sent to trial accused of tax fraud for RD$56 million.

Judge Kenya Romero announced the conditioned suspension after Asilis reached the agreement with the Tax Agency (DGII). Asilis had been ordered to house arrest.

According to the Public Ministry, from 2008 to 2018, Asilis had not paid ITBIS for the aforementioned amount. He was sued for tax fraud at the companies Metro Servicios Turístico , Metro Tours, Grupo Metro, Brightsea, Operadora de Golf SA , Playa Marota S.A, Metro Country Club .
