The winner of the Puerto Plata Open PGA Tour Latinoamerica this year was Chilean Cristóbal del Solar, who received a cash prize of US$31,500. He repeated the win from a year ago. The tournament was played from 2-5 May 2019 at the Playa Dorada Golf Course in Puerto Plata. It had a purse of US$175,000.

In the final round, local player Willy Pumarol had lead. The 30-year old Dominican golf player would end up placing third. That third place, though, was enough for him to become the first Dominican golfer to win a slot to play in a Panamerican Games, the summer Lima, Peru games. The Puerto Plata Open was a qualifier for those games.

Overall, it was a good tournament for Pumarol. He was No. 90 in earnings a week ago, but his tie for third in the Puerto Plata Open moved him up 71 positions after his $10,150 payday. He moved up in the golf ranking to position 1,305.

Another local, 21-year old Juan José Guerra was the winner of the best amateur trophy during the Puerto Plata Open.
