Most Dominicans have a negative perception of the economy, with only 13.1% giving it a positive rating, according to results of the 25-29 April 2019 Gallup-Hoy poll. This is an improvement, nevertheless over the 75% negative perception, Dominicans had when answering to the same poll in September 2018. 52.8% of the people consider the economy will have improved by the end of the second term of President Danilo Medina in August 2020.
