
The president of the National Federation of Shopkeepers and Businesses in the Dominican Republic (FENACERD), Manuel Ortiz Tejada, has complained that the government via the National Institute of Student Welfare (INABIE) owes more than RD$5 billion to the suppliers of extended school day public school meals. He said that the suppliers of the food are on the brink of collapse due to the debt and that they cannot pay their own suppliers.
