
The National Competitiveness Council (CNC) and the National Statistics Office (ONE) signed a cooperation agreement to evaluate the capacity to innovate of Dominican companies and to compare innovation incidence by sectors. The agreement was signed by directors Rafael Paz, of CNC and Alexandra Izquierdo for the ONE.
Paz explained that experts on issues of competitiveness, business climate, country risk, sustainable development and regulatory improvement will meet to identify a strategy, and starting from this an action plan will be drafted to better serve decision-making in the key sectors of the Dominican economy.
Izquierdo stressed that the agreement seeks to generate information on the levels of performance of the country, based on indicators and targets on national productivity, competitiveness, regulatory improvement, risk and levels of sustainable development.
The information collected by both entities will be available online through the Competitiveness Observatory of the Dominican Republic.
