President Danilo Medina was in La Isabela, in western Puerto Plata to inaugurate a RD$109 million public hospital. The medical center can hospitalize 16 patients. The Office of Supervisory Engineers of the State (OISOE), a division of the Presidency, built the hospital.
Medics there will treat common medical conditions of a population of 20,000 residents in the communities of Rancho Manuel, Punta Rucia, Los Pilones, La Cienaga, Laguna Grande, Altos de Los Peña, El Carril, La Rotonda, Guaconejar, Dieguito and La Llanada.
