Drug arrest at Puerto Plata Airport

On Monday, 22 July 2019, a 29-year-old man was arrested in the Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP) in Puerto Plata trying to leave the country with 10 packets of cocaine in his suitcase.
He is a dual national of Spain and the Dominican Republic and was attempting to board a flight to Brussels, Belgium.

He was arrested in the check-in area by agents from the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD). The case is now being investigated to determine the origin of the drugs.
