
Members of the National Police, working for Interpol, arrested Carlos Mario Jimenez (a.k.a. Macaco) when he passed through Migration at Las Americas International Airport on a flight from Miami, USA. He has finished serving a prison sentence in the United States. He had been convicted on charges of drug trafficking and homicide and was identified as a dangerous person by Interpol. The former Colombian guerrilla leader is a former leader of a paramilitary group in Colombia and is considered one of the most feared drug lords in that South American country. As reported, he has issues pending in the Colombia justice system.
He was deported on an Avianca flight direct to Bogota.
