A passing trough and an incoming tropical wave are forecast to bring heavy rains to the Dominican Republic this week. For Monday, 29 July 2019, the forecast is for rain showers in the afternoon in the eastern, northeastern, southeastern, northern, Central Mountain Range and Greater Santo Domingo areas. The effects of the tropical wave are expected to be felt by Wednesday, 31 August.
