
It’s already one of the best selling books in Spanish on Amazon and is for sale at the Cuesta bookstore on 27 de Febrero Avenue in Santo Domingo. A Kindle version of “The Irreverent Chronicles” can be bought for US$10. It is described as a compilation of the corruption scandals committed in the Dominican Republic in the period 1963-2019. It looks into the responsibilities of the main political, economic, social and religious players.
On Monday, journalist Marino Zapete presented the book “La crónica irreverente” in an event at the Hotel Embajador. The 357-page book is a critical overview of heads of government after the fall of the Trujillo dictatorship. It follows the trail of former Presidents Joaquín Balaguer, Antonio Guzmán, Salvador Jorge Blanco, Leonel Fernández, Hipólito Mejía to Danilo Medina.
