The Ministry of Public Works announced the reconstruction of the Villa Elisa-Punta Rucia road in Puerto Plata province. The 23 km road will make getting to the Cayo Arena sandbank, and La Ensenada beach easier and safer and quicker. The two-lane way connects the provinces of Puerto Plata and Monte Cristi. Consorcio Asfaltos y Construcciones (Asfalcon) is the contractor. The road links the communities of Villa Elisa, Agua de Palma, El Papayo, Punta Rucia and La Ensenada.
